The Writing Challenge Rules

Hello random person reading this blog! Welcome to the writing challenge!

I've always wanted to write, and have made many blogs in the past. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm a very good writer and most of these blogs have since been deleted. However, not having lost a passion to write, I've yet again decided to head out to the blogosphere to hone this craft.

A few days ago, I had a brainwave as to exactly how to do this and such, the Writing Challenge was born. Here's how it works.

1. Two people decide to do the writing challenge

2. A general theme for the world is set

3. Each person puts up a blog post about every week. The posts are about different characters but both exist in the same world and have some degree of interaction

4. The world's rules aren't preset but instead written as the story goes along. However as both writers are writing about the same world, the rules must be consistent

So basically, improv writing, stemming from a preset topic but flowing freely from there with synergy from both writers.

Our setting is Modern Fantasy. If Orks and magic were to exist like in a traditional fantasy world but technology has moved on to present time. My female counterpart will be posting her stories up on her blog thewritingchallenge2.blogspot.com so be sure to check that out for the complete story. We will try to post up at least one every week up until either of us are no longer able to do so. Hoping for a fun learning experience and I will see you when the first story is up!
